Linseed Oil Paint

Here at Ingilby Paints we have been hand producing Linseed Oil Paints for over 30 years creating bespoke recipes and colours for projects all over the UK. We manufacture our own Linseed Oil Paints using only the finest oils and pigments at our Suffolk workshop.

What is Linseed Oil Paint?

We consider a Linseed Oil Paint as any traditional paint that contains Linseed Oil as its main resin ie no acrylic, latex, polyurethane, alkyd and one that is low VOC.

Linseed Oil is obtained from the dried, ripened seeds of the flax plant. Linseed oil is a drying oil, meaning it can polymerise into a solid form therefore it is great for use in traditional paints and dries to give a great natural hard wearing finish.

Where can a Linseed Oil Paint be used?

Linseed Oil Paints are great for all internal and external woodwork including windows, furniture, doors and outbuildings as well as applications onto metal, renders, brickwork and plinths.

Linseed Oil Paints give a traditional hard wearing finish that is unrivalled by many modern paints whilst nourishing tired wood and revitalising woodwork.
